Overcoming an obstacle

In 2004, the famous Linyanti trio began facing an unusual dry season obstacle-- the newly-flooded Selinda spillway, bisecting their well-worn path from one end of their territory to the other

They would approach the water cautiously, spending several minutes looking for potential danger-- air bubbles rising from catfish seemed to be cause for concern. Then, a mad dash to the other side when the crossing was deemed safe. Put the cursor on an image to pause the slideshow
